Here is the first of the pair of socks I am knitting for Gigi. I didn't like the way it the colors "pooled" after the picking up the gusset stitches and working the decreases. Not sure how to keep that from happening when using a self-striping yarn when you change the number of stitches being knitted, like after picking up the gusset. Any ideas from any of you seasoned knitters???

About Me
- Name: Janet
- Location: Washington, United States
I have been married for 10 years and have 4 children, ages 16-26 and 1 grandson, aged 9. I met my husband in an online chat room, and it was love from the moment we met. We recently moved to a litle piece of heaven in the state of Washington last year, with my youngest son. My oldest son is also here to go to college. I picked up knitting again 12/04, while my daughter was going through cancer treatments. I am self-taught, in knitting, crochet and cross stitch.

I think it looks great. Colors pooling adds the handknit feel... and it makes them distinctive. Plus, I dont think she will think anything of it.
Im not seasoned... Im not even started... but I love these!!
I agree it does put an interesting touch to them. That is what is so fun about the varigated and self-striping yarns.
